How do Aqua Evolve+ Water Filter Cartridges Work?

The Evolve+ water filter incorporates our unique 5-step fast flow filtration system which removes high levels of impurities and microplastics from tap water.

Aqua Optima 5-Step Fast Flow Filtration System

  1. The fine particle filter removes large particles, sediment and rust.
  2. Activated carbon adsorbs chlorine and filters out organic impurities, including humic acids, pesticides and herbicides.
  3. A special ion exchange resin helps prevent limescale build up and reduces heavy metals.
  4. The fine mesh filters out tiny particles.
  5. The shape and structure of Evolve ensures a consistent fast flow is maintained throughout the life of the product.

Prepare Your Evolve+ Filter Cartridge For Use

To prepare your filter for us follow the instructions on the filter packaging or as below:

Step 1: Remove your Evolve+ filter cartridge from the packaging

Step 2: Soak your Evolve+ filter in water for 5 minutes to remove any air bubbles

Step 3: Hold your Evolve+ filter under running water for 1 minute

Your Evolve+ filter cartridge should now be ready for use

Check Your Jug Compatibility (Brita* Only)

This Evolve+ Filter cartridge is compatible with all Brita Maxtra, Maxtra+ and PefectFit Jugs. For use with Brita jugs check the jug hopper type (the plastic vessel where the filter cartridge sits).

If the Brita jug has a hole in the filter mounting position simply insert your Evolve+ filter cartridge.

If there is no hole in the filter mounting position you will need to use the plastic lifter packaged with this product (see step 3). This filter is not sold or manufactured by Brita*

Inserting the Brita Lifter (for jugs manufactured after June 2020)

If you have identified that your Brita jug hopper has no hole in the mounting position you will need to use the lifter supplied with this filter pack.

Simply insert the lifter over the mounting pin and push down

Insert Your Evolve+ Filter Cartridge

Once your cartridge is prepared for use, the final step is to insert it into your filter jug, depending on type of filter it uses

CLICK TO FIT: Aqua Optima and some jugs feature a click to fit connection. Remove the water funnel and slot the filter into the underside. Rotate the filter clockwise until it clicks into place. Replace the funnel

DROP IN: Other jugs such as Brita require the filter to be dropped into the funnel. Simply fit the Evolve+ cartridge into the top of the inner vessel/funnel and secure into place

BEFORE FIRST USE: Once your Evolve+ filter is secure fill the inner vessel with water and let it pass through the filter. Once it has been filtered, discard the water. Repeat the procedure once more. Fill the vessel for a third time. Your water filter jug is now ready to use

Which Jugs Are Compatible? This Evolve+ filter is compatible with Aqua Optima, Brita Maxtra, Brita Maxtra+, Brita PerfectFit, Tesco, Wilko and all oval water filter jugs and filtered water chillers.
Black Particles In The Water One of the ingredients in our filter is activated carbon, which helps to reduce chlorine and organics, such as pesticides and herbicides. Normally these finer particles are flushed out during filter preparation i.e. by soaking and flushing or running the filter under a tap until clear.We recommend the following: 1) Remove the filter from the inner vessel. 2) Shake it vigorously to loosen and redistribute the filter media. 3) Rinse the filter briefly under a cold tap. 4) Refit to the inner vessel
My Filter Is Running Slowly It is possible for the flow routes through the active ingredient in the filter to become blocked whilst in transit or, in some cases due to excess air in the filter cartridge building up over time. We recommend the following: 1) Remove the filter from the inner vessel. 2) Shake it vigorously to loosen and redistribute the filter media. 3) Rinse the filter briefly under a cold tap. 4) Refit to the inner vessel
My Filter Seems Too Tight For stiff-fitting filters we recommend: 1. Turn the inner vessel upside down on a non-slip surface 2. Wet the silicon seal with water to act as a lubricant 3. Push down as you twist the cartridge into place.
My Brita Lifter is Missing Each pack of filers contains a Brita lifter that allows the filter to be used with Brita Maxtra & PerfectFit Jugs manufactured after June 2020. If yours is missing or you have any questions please contact our dedicated team via the Aqua Optima website
